Diamonds and denim will serve as the fun and festive theme of the 2013 Hope Bash, a fundraiser to benefit foster children served by the nonprofit organization Place of Hope.
Place of Hope in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., is a faith-based child-welfare organization providing short-term and long-term care for foster children, as well as offering family-outreach programs. The Hope Bash is one of four annual fundraisers Place of Hope organizes to strengthen its cause.
“This is a big deal event for us, and we really need to sell out,” said Charles Bender, founding executive director of Place of Hope. “Our goal is to have at least 400 attendees and raise at least $250,000 net for Place of Hope and Villages of Hope.”
This year’s Hope Bash co-chairwomen are Nicole Henry and Elin Nordegren, who owns a home in Seminole Landing. Henry and Nordegren are leading a committee that includes Waterfront Properties and Club Communities’ Alison Archer, a specialist in Singer Island condos for sale and North Palm Beach waterfront property, and Maris Charney, a buyer’s agent. Other committee members are: Holly Amato, Bridget Beer, Kathy Conlan, Jovanna Desmarais, Sue Ende, Sandra Fuentes, Michelle Grande, Debbie Hardin, Damiann Hendel, Dawn Hoffman, Mary Humenansky, Danielle Jenkins, Andrea Kazanjian, Kelly Kennerly, Heidi Mackey, Brianna Mahler, Angela Mattingly, Erin McGould, Joy Miltenberger, Sherry Neal, Jo Perez DuBois, Amy Quigley, Erin Rossitto, Betsy Scott, Janet Sheehan, Kathleen Speh, Brittany Tallon, Kim Tiano, Stephanie Valeche, Diana Wright, Robert Wright and Nicole Zwibel.
The event, titled “Jeans & Jewels: Palm Beach Nights,” will take place at 6:30 p.m. May 3, 2013, at PGA National. Exclusive sponsor is Raymond Lee Jewelers, which is donating a white-gold, multicolor quartz pendant with round diamonds that is valued at $2,000. Raymond Lee Jewelers also is donating a ruby-and-rose-gold ring with micropave diamonds that is valued at $2,200.
Tiffany Kenney and Todd McDermott, WPBF-TV news anchors, will serve as the evening’s emcees. Tickets to “Jeans & Jewels: Palm Beach Nights” cost $300.
A “Bid from the Heart” will take place during the fundraiser, and the Berlin Family Foundation has pledged a match – up to $50,000 – for the amount generated during the bidding process.
