Lincoln Artisans is proud to present artwork by oil painter, Chad Cole. Please join Lincoln Artisans on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 6:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m. for a reception in Chad's honor. His work will remain on display at Lincoln Artisans until June 1, 2013.

Chad Cole is an oil painter based in North Augusta, SC. The artist paints both landscapes and figurative works, and his influences include poetry by Sam Beam, the stories of Flannery O'Conner and the lyrical brush work of Carroll Cloar and Peter Doig. These diverse influences are catalysts for a variety of images about the south in which grazing farmers, agrarian lovers, and displaced people are introduced to the landscape. Themes in Chad's work include alienation, flight, love and consumption with subjects, stories, and symbols representative of Americana and the Southern Gothic literary movement.

Cole earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Augusta State University, and his K-12 Art Teacher Certification from Texas State University. Besides his work as a painter, Cole is an art teacher at Augusta Preparatory Day School in Martinez, GA.
