“We are thrilled that our military and their families enjoyed an evening watching America’s favorite pastime, and that we could contribute in some way to that evening,” said James Scott Farrin attorney, Tara Williams.

“Thanks, James Scott Farrin, for remembering our fallen heroes.”
Those were the words of Tammy Eakes, mother of Sgt. Lance Eakes who recently died while serving in the military oversees. She was responding to the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin donating the use of a Durham Bulls Athletic Park suite for the baseball game on Friday, April 12th.
The firm donated a suite (30 tickets) to the United Service Organization of North Carolina (USO of NC) to distribute amongst current military members, veterans and their families. Kourtney Moody, a USO of NC representative, was excited to report that both the family of the late Sgt. Eakes and an active duty solder and his expectant wife were part of the group able to go.
“It was a great event and we loved it,” Moody said. “It lifted the spirits of the family who had lost their loved one overseas and the expecting couple was so excited to get out for the night.”
Retired Sgt. David Nobles said that even though the outcome wasn’t quite what they’d hoped for (the Bulls lost), it was a hard-fought game and a wonderful experience for the families.
“The suite donated by James Scott Farrin was a huge hit and made for a great evening at the DBAP,” Nobles said. “It allowed family members to come and go as they wanted and provided the family of Lance Eakes, a place to relax, take in a ballgame, and just enjoy themselves.”
Tammy Eakes echoed Nobles’ comments, “We were so honored that we were able to see the game together as a family…The suite was perfect for us. My great nephew is 17 months old and he was able to run around without us having to worry about him getting hurt.”
The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin felt even more honored.
“We are thrilled that our military and their families enjoyed an evening watching America’s favorite pastime, and that we could contribute in some way to that evening,” said James Scott Farrin attorney, Tara Williams. “We can’t say or do enough to thank and honor our military and their families.”
