Bank Consulting Firm Cornerstone Advisors Announces Five New Hires

Cornerstone Advisors has added five professionals to its growing team.

Cornerstone Advisors, Inc, a management consulting firm focused exclusively on mid-size banks and larger credit unions, announced today it has added five professionals to its growing team.

Sam Kilmer, from Indianapolis, joins the Cornerstone team as senior director of client development. Chris Buba, of Scottsdale, was named director of client relations. Christopher Dyess, of Los Angeles, was hired as a senior director. Maggie Momeyer, from Charlotte, N.C., will serve as a senior consultant. Christine Drews, of Mesa, Ariz., fills the role of administrative assistant.

In his new role, Kilmer will head up Cornerstone Advisors’ marketing and outreach efforts. He will be involved in Cornerstone’s bank and credit union Roundtables and in its professional speaking and strategic planning activities. He will also serve as liaison in the firm’s relations with strategic partners, trade groups and vendors. Before joining Cornerstone, Kilmer was vice president of market development at Harland Financial Solutions, a software and services provider. He has also held marketing and strategic planning positions for a multi-billion dollar regional bank, a nationwide lender and a community bank.

Buba will be leading Cornerstone’s strategies to improve collaboration and innovation among peer financial institutions. As part of this initiative, Buba will coordinate the company’s Gonzo Credit Union Peer Group Roundtables for C-level executives and senior managers. Buba has significant marketing, branding and business development experience from previous positions in financial institutions and the professional services industries.

Dyess brings to Cornerstone a specialized knowledge of treasury management services, mortgage banking, finance, accounting and operational risk management. His areas of focus at Cornerstone will be vendor selection, Financial Systems Integration and Conversion Services. Before joining Cornerstone, Dyess was a Director for CAST Management Consultants, where he played a key role in the merger/integration of several high profile banks.

Momeyer will be focusing her efforts at Cornerstone primarily on System Selection and Conversion Services projects. Over the course of her career, Momeyer has led more than 100 banks through core conversions and/or mergers. Most recently, Momeyer served as a business consultant for Jack Henry & Associates, a banking and credit union software company, where she worked on system and operational improvement assessments.

Drews provides vital administrative support to Cornerstone Advisors’ thriving Contract Negotiation and Benchmarking service areas. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Drews was executive assistant to the chief executive officer at Legal Help Stop, a firm specializing in consumer debt relief and negotiation.
