The launch of the website in April keeps with the spirit of National Financial Literacy Month. The new website will allow us to more effectively educate consumers about managing their finances than ever before.

As part of its commitment to providing consumers with the highest-quality financial literacy tools, American Consumer Credit Counseling announced the launch of its new website today. The website features comprehensive information on credit, bankruptcy and debt management, more than 20 financial calculators, and the launch of ACCC’s Student Debt Financial Education Center dedicated to educating consumers on how to manage student loan debt.

“ACCC is committed to having a strong online presence, and we want to ensure that we offer reliable resources and great mobility to all of our consumers, clients, and partners,” said Steve Trumble, President and Chief Executive Officer of ACCC. “The launch of the website in April keeps with the spirit of National Financial Literacy Month. The new website will allow us to more effectively educate consumers about managing their finances than ever before.”

One of the most significant additions to the website is the launch of ACCC’s Student Debt Financial Education Center. The goal of the center is to provide prospective and current students and their families with the information and resources necessary to make the best possible financial decisions regarding their college education and to help successfully maneuver the repayment process without relying on credit cards or additional loans.

According to recent data, 84 percent of undergraduates have at least one credit card and students with a bachelor’s degree pay an average of $350 per month in credit card debt, with an average of 18 years to completely pay off the debt.

“Student debt is a national epidemic in the US creating nearly impossible circumstances for many Americans to get ahead,” Trumble said. “For many who are faced with significant student debt it’s typically the result of insufficient access to financial education resources, which is why this center serves such a critical purpose.”

An additional change consumers will notice is the merging of ACCC’s .org site with its .com site. This consolidation will make all of ACCC’s services available on one easy-to-use, streamlined platform. The new site will also be mobile-ready, allowing additional access for phones and tablets.

“With more and more consumers conducting their banking and financial decisions online, we wanted to make it just as easy for our clients to access our resources on the go,” continued Trumble.

ACCC will also be implementing a redesign of its client members’ website. The new design will have a similar look to the consumer website and it will be easier to navigate and interact with time-sensitive account information and communications.

“One thing that won’t change is our commitment to providing consumers with the necessary education and resources to obtain a financially healthy lifestyle,” added Trumble. “Our updated brand reflects our important mission of providing consumers with freedom from debt and a fresh financial future.”

Clients will be able to access the current member’s site by clicking “Client Login” (located at the top of the page) on any page of the new ConsumerCredit.com. ACCC will soon release more updates on the launch of the new client member site as well.
