New VPs Charged with Leading Expansion into New Markets

Livefyre, the leading provider of real-time social software, today announced a series of high profile appointments to its Executive Team. The expanded leadership includes Scott Sorochak as SVP of Global Sales, Garth Holsinger as VP of Brand Partnerships and Bruce Ableson as VP of Client Solutions.

In his role as SVP of Global Sales, Sorochak will oversee all aspects of revenue growth for the company, scaling the Livefyre sales team to meet aggressive growth targets. As VP of Brand Partnerships, Holsinger is charged with establishing Livefyre’s strategic relationship with brands and advertisers as the company expands into new industries. Ableson will be responsible for building Livefyre’s Client Solutions team, ensuring a smooth transition for customers from pre-sale through to post-sale.

These high-profile appointments come at a time of rapid growth for Livefyre as the company expands its social product suite to meet the needs of new industries including retail, consumer packaged goods and travel and hospitality. Livefyre currently provides social applications for half of the ten most profitable media companies in the US. The appointments also come of the heels of the company naming Kristin Hersant as their new VP of Marketing.

As Entrepreneur in Residence for Foundation Capital, a VC firm with more than $2 billion in its latest fund, Sorochak regularly advises companies across the social gaming, mobile and consumer Internet sectors. Prior to joining Livefyre, Sorochak served as SVP of Sales for the job aggregator Simply Hired where he increased sales revenue by 82 percent year-over-year and grew the company’s sales team from 5 to more than 20 employees. Before Simply Hired, he was co-founder and CRO of Rivet Games, Inc., a social gaming company known for its flagship product Foopets with more than 9 million members and 750,000 monthly unique users. Sorochak has also served as President and CEO of BookCrossing,Inc., the world’s largest book social networking community and SVP of Worldwide Sales and Client Services for Adteractive, Inc.

Previously Holsinger served as VP, Sales and Partnerships for Klout, and created the company’s first “influencer marketing” campaigns with Virgin America, Nike, Pepsi and other major brands. During his five years prior to Klout, Holsinger ran his own agency, Working Man, providing strategy to major brands as they integrated new media, technology and partnerships with startups. He also is a partner in a co-working space in New York, Internet Media Labs, and is the founder of the global event series Founders Weekend.

Ableson comes to Livefyre from Echo as VP, Client Solutions where he oversaw all client services for the social platform, managing the engineering team responsible for implementing new customers and building custom applications. Previously he was SVP, Client Services for KIT Digital where he led a production team of project managers, designers and developers delivering projects ranging from $100 K to multi-million dollars to entertainment, consumer brands and digital agencies. He also served as VP, Solutions and Engineering and Strategy for social media platform KickApps and was founder and publisher of, the first social blogging community.

Sorochak will be based in Livefyre’s San Francisco headquarters, while Holsinger and Ableson will be based in New York.
