Mobile Media Upfront Puts Advertisers and Mobile as the Focus

The 2013 Mobile Media Upfront

We are here to disrupt traditional media and the status quo. Innovation does not come from Silicon Valley, but rather the adoption of new mobile technologies by those who want it, the advertisers. – Paran Johar, CEO, Mobile Media Upfront

Mobile Media Summit & Upfront, the largest media and advertising mobile event in North America, will host more than 1,000 senior agency, media and advertiser executives at the May 20th Mobile Media Upfront at New York City’s New World Stages.

Event highlights include special keynotes by Lisa Baird, Chief Marketing Officer of the United States Olympic Committee, Bonin Bough, VP of Global Media & Consumer Engagement at Mondelez and Babs Rangaiah, VP, Global Media Innovation & Ventures at Unilever, who will share how mobile fits into the media mix, and how they are “mobilizing” their organizations.

Putting brands and agencies front and center and detailing what clients are demanding from mobile now, the day-long mobile content-rich event experience will be hosted by Paran Johar, CEO and Founder of the Mobile Media Summit. Johar said, “We are here to disrupt traditional media and the status quo. We have every single holding company and their respective agencies presenting what their clients and brands are looking for in mobile. Innovation does not come from Silicon Valley, but rather the adoption of new mobile technologies by those who want it, the advertisers.”

“I am pleased to be participating in the Annual Mobile Media Upfront conference – both to share what the U.S. Olympic Committee is doing to elevate our activations and to learn from some of the leaders in the industry,” said Lisa Baird, chief marketing officer, USOC. “The mobile audience is critically important to the USOC and it’s not only growing, it is getting more discerning. Everyone operating in this space is charged with thoughtful innovation and this conference will no doubt be valuable as we look ahead.”

The New World Stages is a state-of-the-art theatrical complex just off Times Square that has served as the home of many Tony Award winning, Guinness record setting and Pulitzer Prize-winning shows. The 5 stages are centered on a large common lobby and gallery. Centrally located in Hell’s Kitchen, New World Stages has hosted events for super-stars Kanye West, Janet Jackson and LA Reid of Island Def Jam Records. Notable long running Broadway shows Rent and Avenue Q have also called New World Stages home.

Based on record registration and demand for content, the Mobile Upfront will take place on two stages, allowing experts to delve into special topics, such as Multi-Screen Buying, Location-targeting and Programmatic/RTB. The event sponsors and partners include: the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s), About.com, Advertising Age, All Things D, Appsnack, AT&T AdWorks, Business Insider, Celtra, Collective, Direct Marketing News, Dynamic Logic, Flurry, Jumptap, MadAve Mobile, Medialets, Mobile Brands Alliance, Mobile Monday-New York, MoPub, Pandora, PlaceIQ, Plethora Mobile, PubMatic, RadiumOne, SessionM, Strike Ad, Tagged, Tapjoy, Telmetrics, TV Guide, The Weather Company, Undertone, USA Today, Velti, Verve Mobile, Videology, Voltari and Women in Wireless, among others.
