The leader of those community efforts in recent years has been Joseph Murray, who announced his retirement today.

Ascend One, led by its founder, Bernie Dancel, has played an active role in the community for over 20 years and remains committed to their core values and the philosophy of improving the lives of others. Joseph has been with Ascend One for 17 years and has played a key role in establishing and invigorating numerous programs on behalf of Ascend One, including the Heart Association, the Howard County Library and the Y, among others.

“Joseph has been a tireless worker, an advocate for the community and he best represents the values of Ascend One with his commitment to helping people improve the quality of their lives”, said Dancel. Bernie remains personally committed to the Howard County community and the relationships he has developed. Joseph Murray added, “Bernie and the employees of Ascend One have not only been wonderful colleagues, but great friends, and I will truly miss each and every one of them. It’s time for me to challenge myself with some new goals that I have set for myself and to spend more time with my grandchildren.”

Murray’s retirement is effective May 17th and the company will honor him with a special luncheon in mid-May.
