Today retailers and automotive manufacturers are demanding more from their suppliers. They expect a small supplier to have the same resources and capabilities of a Fortune 500 Company.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 10, 2013
Beacon EDI, the Electronic Data Interchange Provider, today announced that they have completed testing Seagull Scientific's comprehensive Barcode Labeling software.
Beacon selected BarTender for the ease and speed with which it can be deployed in cloud EDI applications, via its standards-based nature, as well as its competitive price point.
"One of our main reasons for selecting BarTender is the .NET SDK they provide along with the Enterprise Automation edition. Our software engineers program mainly in C# & VB.NET and BarTender came with source code samples and this helped our developers a lot." — Sergey Sudakov, Project Manager, Beacon EDI.
Retailers like Wal-Mart, Target and JC Penney require their vendors to send industry standard barcode labels (GS1-128) on their packaging containers. For a lot of small-to-medium size suppliers this is a real challenge because the compliance requirements of these labeling products are complicated. If the vendor gets the barcode symbology wrong, they will have to pay chargebacks or expense-offsets to the retailers.
By combining solutions from third-party EDI providers like Beacon and easy-to-design labeling software like BarTender, small-to-medium size vendors can easily become compliant with their retail customers.
"Today retailers and automotive manufacturers are demanding more from their suppliers. They expect a small supplier to have the same resources and capabilities of a Fortune 500 Company. The only difference is that Fortune 500 companies have big budgets and armies of staff to solve them. Thanks to companies like Seagull Scientific, small companies are now able to print high quality labels and even RFID Tags. " — Alex Perlin, Beacon EDI.
Beacon plans to roll out its BarTender based solution as a feature of their ASN Magic Pack which will have a beta release later this month.
