The Indiana race was one of the longest and toughest sprints we’ve ever had. To have so many participants beat the one hour mark is incredible.

On May 6, Spartan Race, an international obstacle course racing series, congratulates the racers who participated in the Indiana Reebok Spartan Sprint.
In its newest blog, Spartan Race recaps its most recent obstacle course race in Indiana, which took place on April 27th. The race turned out to be one of the most challenging Sprints that Spartan Race has ever held. Todd Sedlak, who has competed in dozens of Spartan Races himself, took charge of designing this year’s course in Indiana.
“The Indiana Spartan Sprint was designed to truly be an obstacle racer’s course, averaging one obstacle every 300 yards over five miles,” he says. “Haspin Acres offered some incredibly rugged terrain, allowing for tremendous natural obstacles like chasms, ravines, mud holes, river beds and steep, muddy climbs.”
There was a sense of camaraderie as participants helped each other through the obstacles in one of the toughest Spartan Races yet. 13 men were able to break Sedlak’s challenge and finished the Sprint in less than an hour. The top three men’s Elite finishers were Brakken Kraker (48:01), Elliot Megquier (48:10) and Alexander Nicholas (54:10). The top three women’s Elite finishers were Amelia Boone (1:01:27), Jillian Kenney (1:11:08) and Tonya Stogsdill (1:12:30).
Joe De Sena, founder and CEO of Spartan Race, congratulates the racers. “The Indiana race was one of the longest and toughest sprints we’ve ever had. To have so many participants beat the one hour mark is incredible.”
