Natural gas vehicles will now be able to travel further north along the I-87 North corridor in New York. American Natural Gas (ANG) has announced that they are entered into an agreement for a public, heavy duty CNG facility along New York States I-87 N corridor, in Wilton. The station will be located just north of Saratoga Springs at The Wilton Travel Plaza located off Exit 16 of I-87N. The Wilton Travel Plaza accommodates a significant portion of the truck traffic that travels the I-87N corridor and offers a convince store, Scotty’s Restaurant, tractor-trailer parking and restrooms. Frank Parillo, Owner of The Wilton Travel Plaza said: “Offering CNG fueling capabilities at The Wilton Travel Plaza is very exciting, as the location is ideal for both fleets and consumers traveling the Northway corridor.” This location will help to open up CNG vehicle travel along I-87N as it offers premier fueling capabilities approximately 40 miles further north than the CNG fueling facilities in the Albany and surrounding areas. “We are extremely excited to bring CNG fueling to the I-87N corridor, opening up CNG fueling capabilities on this important interstate that connects the Province of Québec to the United States,” said Drew West, Founder and CEO of ANG.

The Wilton facility will offer premier CNG fueling capabilities for fleets as well as consumers in the Wilton area. One example of the excitement comes from the D.A. Collins Companies, a large construction company in the area. The COO of D.A. Collins, Bob Manz, said: “We’re enthusiastic about introducing CNG for our fueling needs and expect to recognize significant fuel savings while reducing our impact on the environment.”

Opening the I-87N corridor for CNG travel is one small step in ANG’s efforts to provide high quality, readily available CNG fueling capabilities to the Northeast and surrounding states.

The target launch date of the Wilton CNG facility is June 2014. It will offer public fueling capabilities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will accept all major bank and fleet cards. If you are interested in utilizing the CNG station located in Wilton, NY please contact ANG immediately.
