One of CSG Government Solutions’ leading healthcare and human services experts recently participated in the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) Annual Technology and Business Conference held May 5 – 9 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Mark Elliott, a Principal in CSG’s Healthcare and Human Services practice, shared his expertise on state health insurance exchanges (HIXs) and health information exchanges (HIEs), describing the differences in requirements, the purposes of each, and their respective importance to retail and long term care pharmacy. Mark has been an NCPDP member since 1999, serves in several NCPDP leadership roles, and was recently appointed by the Board of Trustees to the five-member Standardization Committee which provides oversight to all of NCPDP’s standards development process.
“NCPDP continues to play a leading role in the development of healthcare standards, particularly with respect to the real-time and interactive engagement of patient, provider, and payer,” says Andrea Danes, Director of CSG’s Healthcare and Human Services practice. “Mark’s participation on the Council allows CSG to share our real-world experience with state healthcare agencies, and to apply insights and best practices that are being developed across the country.”
