Ware Academy Annual Golf Tournament Tees Off June 7 in Kilmarnock, Virginia

The tournament, one of the independent school’s signature fundraising events, will support academic programs, scholarships and financial assistance for current students.

Located one mile from Main Street in Gloucester’s historic Courthouse district, Ware Academy is a Pre-K through 8th Grade independent school.

Ware Academy will host its 11th Annual Ware Academy Golf Tournament Friday, June 7 at the Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club in Kilmarnock.

“This is one of our signature fundraising events of the year,” said Ginger James, Ware Academy’s Director of Admissions and Special Events. “These funds help support academic programs, scholarships and tuition assistance.”

Ware Academy hopes to raise $30,000 this year. The 2012 event brought in $22,000.

Located one mile from the historic courthouse area of Gloucester, Va., Ware Academy is an independent school for students' pre-K to eighth grade.

The 2013 Ware Academy Golf Tournament is presented by Rappahannock Concrete.

Want to play? Register as an individual for $125 or with a team for $500. The cost to play includes greens fees with cart, lunch, course beverages and dinner.

Tournament check-in begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. Captain’s Choice format and Stableford Scoring rules apply.

Featured events throughout the tournament include Beat the Pro, Hole-In-One, 50/50 Raffle, Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available, according to James. Individuals, families and businesses can sponsor the tournament, holes and the beverage cart at a variety of support levels.

The Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club is located in Kilmarnock at 362 Club Drive.

ABOUT WARE ACADEMY:

Located one mile from Main Street in Gloucester’s historic Courthouse district, Ware Academy is a Pre-K through 8th Grade independent school. The 19-acre campus is widely recognized by its signature farmhouse called Noland Hall, which houses the administrative offices, kindergarten, pre-kindergarten, music and art classrooms.
