On Saturday, May 11, 2013, Uncle Bob’s Self Storage® will join forces with the National Association of Letter Carriers and others to help Stamp Out Hunger across America. Now in its 21st year, the Stamp Out Hunger food drive has become the nation’s largest single-day food drive benefitting Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization.

To participate in the Stamp Out Hunger food drive, residents are encouraged to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable food items, such as canned soup, canned vegetables, peanut butter, pasta, rice or cereal, next to their mailbox prior to the time of regular mail delivery on Saturday, May 11.

“Uncle Bob’s is proud to support an effort that plays such a pivotal role in stocking food banks and pantries during the summer months when children are out of school and the need for food assistance rises,” said Diane Piegza, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Uncle Bob’s Self Storage. Likewise, donations may be left at any Uncle Bob’s Self Storage location and the Company will make sure they are delivered to a local pantry.

Entertainer Nick Cannon is the drive’s spokesperson. In addition to Uncle Bob’s Self Storage, the National Association of Letter Carriers, the U.S. Postal Service, Feeding America, Campbell Soup Company, AARP Foundation, United Way Worldwide, the AFL-CIO, the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association, GLS Companies, Valassis/Red Plum, Publix, Source Direct Plastics and Valpak are supporting this year’s drive.
