Overseas sales are set to generate £28 billion for UK e-tailers by 2020 to £28 billion from £4 billion in 2012, according to e-consultancy's 10 Interesting Digital Marketing Statistics published on May 3.
International growth in online sales will outpace domestic growth threefold to make up 40% of total online sales by 2020, up from 14% in 2012.
North America will continue to be the single biggest regional market with sales expected to increase from £0.8 billion in 2012 to £2.7 billion in 2020.
The data was based on analysis of Google search statistics for around 500 of the UK’s most prominent and interesting UK e-tailers from 2010-12.
