Patriotic rock band Madison Rising has announced that the music video for their best-selling rock rendition of the Star Spangled Banner has surpassed 3.5 million unique views on YouTube, just as the song itself regains top positions on major music distribution sites including iTunes and Amazon.com.
“Awesome,” “deeply moving,” “amazing,” “chilling,” and “the best ever,” are just some of the superlatives used to describe the band’s rendition of the song that celebrates what being an American is all about. In addition to all of the accolades, the band has received thousands of messages from fans calling for them to perform at Super Bowl XLVIII next year as well as at NASCAR events and a plethora of other major venues around the country.
“It would be an absolute honor to perform at the Super Bowl next year,” said lead singer Dave Bray a navy veteran and former 8404 FMF Corpsman for 2nd battalion 2nd Marines. “2014 will be the 200 year anniversary of the writing of the Banner by Francis Scott Key, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate that historic moment then by having us perform his work in a way that resonates so intensely with so many millions of people.”
Madison Rising released its widely acclaimed version of the Star Spangled Banner last summer, updated with a special addendum to reflect our nation’s struggles at the dawn of the 21st century. In conjunction with that release, the band launched the Five Million Star Spangled Banner Challenge (http://www.starspangledbannerchallenge.com) as a way to offer Americans a fun and meaningful way to show their patriotism by watching the video and downloading the song directly to their iPods and other devices to play proudly in their cars, at the gym, at the beach or anywhere else they want.
“We plan to do everything we can to continue to re-energize the National Anthem and make it the #1 best selling song in the country,” said manager Richard Mgrdechian. “We created Madison Rising to help restore a sense of pride back into this country, and we're thrilled that it’s having that effect.”
Madison Rising just completed a weekend sweep through Pennsylvania, home of lead singer Dave Bray, where the band performed a Friday night set at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, followed by a troop rally at the Capitol Building in Harrisburg with Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett.
The band heads out to Texas this week to launch a two-week tour. The trip will kick off with a performance on Wednesday May 8th at the Grand Stafford Theater in Bryan, followed by appearances at Joker's Ice House in Killeen on May 10th, Love and War in Plano on May 11th and the Hog Creek Ice House in Waco on Saturday May 18th. In addition to the performances, Madison Rising will have special guests in attendance and on stage at various shows to promote Second Amendment rights and help benefit families affected by the recent tragedy in West, TX. Along the way, the band expects to make surprise visits to a few military bases or VA hospitals in the area.
Madison Rising promotes the principles of liberty, independence, smaller government and personal responsibility. Their mission is not only to make great music, but to also send a message that American culture is alive and well. Madison Rising is currently recording its second album and actively touring around the country.
