Norwalk, Connecticut (PRWEB) May 08, 2013
UBTech 2013, a higher education technology conference to be held at the Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando June 10-12, is proud to announce the first annual UBFit 5K run-walk event, which this year will support One Fund Boston.
The UBTech conference is produced annually by the University Business Leadership Institute, which is the professional development arm of University Business magazine. This year’s conference addresses the theme “Vanishing Boundaries, Emerging Opportunities.”
“UBTech is packed with opportunities for learning and networking, and now we’re adding the important elements of fun and fitness,” said JD Solomon, conference program director. “And to do this in a way that supports One Fund Boston makes it even more worthwhile.”
The UBFit 5K will be held on Wednesday, June 12, the final day of the UBTech conference, starting at 7 a.m. The picturesque 5K course takes runners and walkers on a scenic route around the beautiful EPCOT Resorts area, comprised of the Walt Disney Dolphin and Swan, the Boardwalk Resort, and Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club.
In lieu of a registration fee, participants in the UBFit 5K may make an optional donation. UBTech will donate 100 percent of the donations to One Fund Boston, which supports the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. Pre-register for the UBFit 5K at http://www.ubtechconference.com/5k.
The conference features two powerful keynotes from leading experts in higher ed. Gene Wade, Founder of UniversityNow, discusses how our traditional system of two- and four-year colleges and universities is not well-suited to educate its fastest growing demographic, “post-traditional learners” in Re-imagining College: The Case for Radical Change on Tuesday, June 11 at 8:30 am. Sree Sreenivasan, Chief Digital Officer at Columbia University, closes UBTech 2013 with Beyond MOOCs: 5 Digital Initiatives that Make Sense for Every College, on Wednesday, June 12 at 12:40 pm.
There are also more than 80 sessions covering everything higher ed leaders need to know about the issues and trends in higher ed, from big data to advancing the education experience through technology to solving ongoing financial challenges.
