Bringing the English language to new immigrant neighbors is helping to build bonds within communities.

The producers of Impact with Martin Sheen are pleased to announce a July debut for a new report showcasing programs that are helping new immigrants.

Impact Martin Sheen is an independently produced television series airing in markets around the country on public television. The program is hosted by the legendary Martin Sheen, who is marking the start of his second half-century in American entertainment in 2013. Mr. Sheen has developed a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most respected actors during a career that includes more than 60 film appearances.

Martin Sheen Impact is going into communities with diverse immigrant populations to see what programs are available to help these people assimilate into the American community. In this new report from Martin Sheen PBS, audiences will see how the English language can be a powerful tie to bind neighbors together.

English language instruction from volunteers is helping new arrivals to the United States get an important skill that will help them connect with others and succeed in America.
