Mid-States Concrete Industries (msprecast.com) has become the 15th member of AltusGroup (altusprecast.com) and will market CarbonCast Enclosure Systems in the Midwest. The addition of Mid-States improves the availability of CarbonCast technology in the Chicago and Milwaukee regions, both of which are traditionally strong precast markets.
Mid-States will offer CarbonCast High Performance Wall Panels and CarbonCast Insulated Architectural Cladding from its South Beloit, Ill., plant to complement its existing structural and architectural precast wall products. Both CarbonCast products use C-GRID carbon fiber grid as a shear connector to provide outstanding thermal efficiency and full composite action while maintaining the remarkable aesthetic flexibility of precast concrete.
“With more than six decades of precast experience, Mid-States has firmly established itself as a high-quality, innovative company that constantly seeks ways to meet the market’s demands,” said John Carson, AltusGroup executive director. “We’re excited about their ability to bring CarbonCast’s lower weight and insulation advantages to the metro Chicago market.”
Founded in 1946, Mid-States Concrete Industries manufactures prestressed hollowcore concrete slabs, precast/prestressed concrete beams and columns, insulated architectural finished wall panels as well as custom precast elements. In addition to the ability to deliver total structural building systems, Mid-States Concrete Industries also provides the engineering and project management expertise needed in today’s construction environment.
AltusGroup precast concrete manufacturers have installed more than 20 million square feet of CarbonCast surface area on over 400 structures since introducing the technology in 2004.
The first-ever national partnership of precast companies, AltusGroup was founded to develop, manufacture and market precast innovations such as the award-winning CarbonCast® line of products featuring C-GRID carbon fiber grid reinforcing. With more than two dozen structural and architectural locations in the United States, the 15 domestic and three international AltusGroup companies have an unparalleled network of manufacturing plants, technical staff and sales personnel to ensure architects, engineers and contractors get the help they need—and the quality and performance they expect—when they select CarbonCast products.
