Mclean, VA (PRWEB) May 07, 2013
Gables Residential establishes one day a year in each region whereby their offices and all the communities close down so over 130 associates can provide a full day of service to an organization in need. The company-wide volunteer efforts are valued by the company and its associates as an opportunity to give back to the community.
The DC region will be closing its offices and all of its communities in the DC and surrounding area on Thursday, May 9th, to spend the day providing hands-on work at the Phoenix House. The Phoenix House organization is a non-profit provider of substance abuse services. The location on 521 N. Quincy Street in Arlington, Virginia provides specific focus on helping adolescent boys and men.
All Gables Associates will be gathering at the Phoenix House to paint, clean and landscape for the entire day. "The ultimate goal is to provide an improved environment for those who are there to get better", stated Jorgen Punda, Regional Vice President of Investments for Gables Residential.
