Belgrade, Maine (PRWEB) May 08, 2013
Thanks to a grant from the Camp Kennebec Alumni Association the Maine Golf & Tennis Academy is awarding 50% scholarships to student athletes from Maine to come and improve not only their golf & tennis games but their chances for winning college scholarships in their sport. Eligible candidates are girls and boys ages 8 to 17 living in Maine who complete the on line enrollment application to attend MGTA for a period of one, two, four, six or eight weeks.
MGTA is a 100 year old family owned camp providing cutting edge golf & tennis instruction alongside the traditional camp experience. Campers receive the highest quality instruction and guided play in the world from PGA and USPTA professionals and with talented peers from all over the world. “If a kid from Maine can find an equal playing field with other kids,” states camp owner Joel Lavenson, “I think that is outstanding. They may not turn into professional Athletes but they may get a college scholarship they otherwise wouldn’t!”
The Maine Golf and Tennis Academy philosophy that character and performance go hand in hand, in competition and in life, is at the heart of this new program. Maine campers will become a peer mentor to a foreign camper, increase language skills by teaching English and potentially learn a language. They will get the thrill of teaching someone about the great state and of course be a great representative for their state and community to friends from around the world.
There are no financial requirements for these scholarships and are available on a first come, first serve basis in a limited number for a limited time. Understandably this program is turning out to be one of our most popular offerings. To take advantage of this great opportunity simply fill out the camper application form on line at http://www.golfcamp.com/enrollment.html. And please call Joel at GOLF-CAMP (that is 207-465-3226) or email him at fun(at)golfcamp(dot)com; he can’t wait to help you attend MGTA this summer!
