Sunny Isles Beach Celebrates National Kids to Parks Day

The City of Sunny Isles Beach is proud to join over 300 cities, towns, and parks in celebrating the outdoors and supporting the First Lady’s Let’s Move Outside! initiative by participating in National Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Be prepared to join in the family fun during the afternoon and into the evening at Pelican Community Park (18115 North Bay Road) from 4:00 – 6:00 pm and at Heritage Park (19200 Collins Avenue) from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

KIDS plus PARKS equals FUN!

The City of Sunny Isles Beach is proud to join over 300 cities, towns, and parks in celebrating the outdoors and supporting the First Lady’s Let’s Move Outside! initiative by participating in National Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Be prepared to join in the family fun during the afternoon and into the evening at Pelican Community Park (18115 North Bay Road) from 4:00 – 6:00 pm and at Heritage Park (19200 Collins Avenue) from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

The second annual World Class Olympics and Family Day will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Pelican Community Park (18115 North Bay Road). This year, individuals will compete in Baseball, Basketball, Bean Bag Toss, Chess, Dominos, Javelin, Soccer, and an Obstacle Course. Advance registration is strongly recommended in the following categories: the Chess Tournament, Individual (ages 13 and up) which begins at 1:00 pm, the Dominos Tournament, Individual (ages 13 and up) which begins at 4:00 pm and the 3v3 Basketball Tournament, Team (ages 13 and up) which will take place at 4:30 pm.

After the competitions, the fun continues Saturday evening at our Closing Celebrations with the presentation of World Class Olympic medals, free musical entertainment and kid activities from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Heritage Park (19200 Collins Avenue). Plan to bring the entire family, because in Sunny Isles Beach, kids plus parks equals FUN! Celebrate National Kids to Parks Day in style in our world class city!
