Eagle Gate College’s Layton campus will honor approximately 90 graduates at the 2013 Spring Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 10th at 5:30 p.m. at The Val A. Browning Center, Weber State University. Sophia DiCaro, deputy director of the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development, will give the commencement address. Todd Smith, Layton Campus President, will confer the degrees.
Sophia DiCaro is committed to keeping Utah’s economy strong and growing. She has served in the Governor’s Office since April, 2011. Prior to her appointment, DiCaro had served as the economic development office’s finance director and had worked on behalf of the office with the Legislature and other state agencies. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of Eastern Utah and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Utah.
“For our graduates, the graduation ceremony is the culmination of the students’ hard work and dedication to improve their lives,” President Smith said. “We are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of each graduate as they transition from our classrooms to the workforce.”
