Kati has overcome many obstacles and we consider her a true Spartan.

On May 8, Spartan Race tells the amazing story of Kati Rose Scheetz in its new SUPER MOM series. As part of its partnership with SNAP Infusion and Vitamin Angels, Spartan Race is highlighting moms who are participating in Spartan Races, mud runs, and other races in its blog through Mother’s Day.
Kati Rose Scheetz is an all around SUPER MOM. When doctors discovered that her daughter was not growing in her womb, they were forced to induce labor at just 37 weeks. According to the blog, “her daughter, born at only 4 lbs. came into this world with no heart beat and not breathing. She survived and was named Faith Rose, but everyone calls her ‘Bug.’”
Scheetz puts all of her energy into her daughter. “She has been fighting ever since so my fitness and my own health has had to be put on the back burner,” says Scheetz, who takes her daughter to therapy, her pediatrician, and specialists every week. Scheetz and her family have spent four of the last six months in the hospital with Faith.
Despite her busy schedule Scheetz works part-time, has a photography business on the side, and is training for a charity marathon in July. Scheetz says, “I am told by some many people that they don’t know how I keep going with everything going on with my daughter. I just tell them that no matter what happens to her, I need to be a positive role model and show her that if you are determined you can do anything.”
Joe De Sena, founder and CEO of Spartan Race, commends Scheetz for her determination and love for her daughter. “Kati has overcome many obstacles and we consider her a true Spartan.”
