"One big change is the ability to scan linear bar codes for consolidation of serialized asset records."
Portsmouth, RI (PRWEB) May 10, 2013
A2B announces the release of UC! Web 2.4, industry-standard asset tracking and data management software for the Department of Defense IUID program. This latest version introduces two new modules that deliver WAWF and tool crib functionality, each designed to increase performance within an enterprise and across the DoD wide area workflow. With the greater visibility and enhanced control provided by these new modules, asset utilization is greatly amplified. The UC! Web product family is widely used by DoD military services and contractors to identify, mark and track items in compliance with MIL STD 130 and MIL STD 129.
Product Manager Jim Daniels says, “Whether you are managing production, property or a maintenance depot, there is something in this new release for everyone. One big change is the ability to scan linear bar codes for consolidation of serialized asset records. Now all assets within the system can be assigned to a custodian and location and transfers are easy to make.” The ability to scan and track assets with simple linear barcodes increases visibility of assets across an enterprise, with UC! Web v2.4 allowing for scanning of both linear barcodes and Data Matrix codes on the same form.
UC! Web WAWF Manager allows defense contractors to identify items throughout the manufacturing process and to seamlessly generate DD 250 forms for electronic submission of data to the WAWF. In addition to instant upload verification, this feature also lets users create MIL STD 129 military shipping labels utilizing a hierarchy of data from item to container.
With the UC! Web v2.4 Tool Crib Manager, location, count and condition of tools can be tracked and managed from purchase to disposition. The resulting 360 degree visibility of both serialized and non-serialized items means paperless management of tools across shifts and departments. The result is an environment where accountability, predictive maintenance and timely calibration become the norm; loss and waste are nearly eliminated and assembly lines can keep moving.
