“Small business growth is what drives the U.S. economy, but high-growth business is what creates the jobs and wealth needed for a sustainable economy,” said Adalberto Quijada, District Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

ieCrowd’s Innovation Economy Expo (ieExpo), hosted on May 9th, 2013 at the Ontario Convention Center in Southern California, is bringing together the critical players needed to support the next generation of innovation-focused business creation and growth in today’s economic and regulatory environments.
The event will feature over 50 expert speakers on ten panels – each with specific focus areas pertinent to starting, growing, or cultivating a culture for innovative high-growth ventures.
Registration was sold out days before the event, with 600 expected to attend. The event’s popularity represents a global demand for new levels of collaboration for business growth.
“We all agree - everyone benefits when businesses succeed,” said Aaron Knox, Director of the event and Chief Partnership Officer for ieCrowd. “ieCrowd’s ieExpo kicks-off a new global movement that places collaboration at center-stage for innovation-focused businesses and those who benefit from them.”
The event is attracting leaders from a range of sectors, all of whom represent a desire to improve conditions for business creation and growth. One of the keynote speakers is former SBA chief Hector Barreto, who is also a board member of the United States Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Latino Coalition.
“The ieExpo is an example of how collaboration fosters the growth of small business, which is the engine that really drives our economy,” Barreto said. “I am proud to be a part of this transformation with so many other like-minded business owners and entrepreneurs.”
The event will feature a sold-out Innovation Pavilion, in which ieExpo participants can visit nearly 100 booths hosted by venture capital firms, engineering and manufacturing companies, exporting experts, marketing professionals, trade associations, and universities.
Each of the ten breakout sessions includes panels of experts from around the country on critical issues for businesses and entrepreneurs. The topics include: “Raising Capital for Growth: Crowdfunding”; The Power of Innovation Combined with Education: STEM, Entrepreneurship & Innovations in Education”; and panels on new sales and marketing strategies; exporting and global trade; creating startup friendly communities; and other pertinent topics.
Innovators and entrepreneurs make up a large portion of attendees who are seeking new avenues for raising capital for their companies. FundingPost, one of ieExpo’s thirteen collaborative partners, is coordinating a panel on venture capital, and will be co-presenting with Honda Strategic Ventures, Thomvest, Soho Loft, and other venture firms seeking new high-growth business investment opportunities.
“Success stories come when entrepreneurs are introduced to investors who can finance their ideas and put them into action,” said Joe Rubin, director at FundingPost. “ieExpo will provide all the tools necessary for this kind of success,” said Rubin.
Leaders in the public and non-profit sectors will represent a large segment of participants, including local governments, the United States Small Business Administration, Startup California, the Latino Coalition, and the California Inland Empire Export Council, which is holding its 19th Annual World Trade Conference within ieExpo.
“Small business growth is what drives the U.S. economy, but high-growth business is what creates the jobs and wealth needed for a sustainable economy,” said Adalberto Quijada, District Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration. “ieExpo is bringing innovators and entrepreneurs together with those who provide the resources needed for high-growth business success at a time when it is needed the most.”
The event’s top sponsors include Time Warner, National University, The Press Enterprise, FundingPost, and Herman Miller, as well as 50 other funding sponsors and over 160 participating stakeholders supporting the event.
“Collaboration has become an essential component for the next wave of innovative, high-growth ventures – and we’re bringing the right people together to lead this movement,” Knox said. “The event sold out, showing that our kick-off event is striking a real nerve among those most responsible for creating new jobs and new opportunities in our economy,” he continued.
