Olin College to Hold Commencement Exercises Sunday, May 19

Norman R. Augustine, Former CEO of Lockheed Martin Corporation, to Address Olin Graduates

Olin College of Engineering will hold its eighth commencement Sunday, May 19, beginning at 3 pm on the campus’s Great Lawn. Seventy-six members of the Class of 2013 will receive bachelor’s degrees during the ceremony. The commencement speaker will be Norman R. Augustine, the former chairman and CEO of Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Augustine was raised in Colorado and attended Princeton University where he graduated with a BSE in Aeronautical Engineering, magna cum laude, and an MSE. He served as chairman and principal officer of the American Red Cross, as chairman of the council of the National Academy of Engineering, president and chairman of the Association of the United States Army, chairman of the Aerospace Industries Association, and chairman of the Defense Science Board. The winner of numerous awards, including the National Medal of Technology, he is the former president of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Boy Scouts of America.
