The producers will be appearing on ABC’s Shark Tank on Friday, May 10, 2013 in an effort to secure funds for the film. This marks the very first time that a feature film will be pitched in the show's history. In the interim, they’ve listed their project on the crowd-funding website Kickstarter.

Former Element Films Exec Brian Pitt and James LaVitola, along with writer Cliff Dorfman, are the leading team behind the project. The film will have a deep heart felt character driven story along with a focus on motorcycle road racing - which is the 2nd most watched sport in the world. LaVitola ensures the movie will stay true to the sport and give the fans what they want. The film will start pre-production once funding is complete with a tentative release date in 2015. Due to the fact that the motorcycle world championship takes place in many different countries, filming will likely be rooted in the United States with many scenes filmed globally. LaVitola came up with the concept after feeling overwhelming disappointed with the motorcycle movies that Hollywood had previously released. “There are so many amazing stories about road racing that would make for a great movie,” he explains.

The other producer, Brian Pitt, has been producing films for over a decade and is currently producing the film Heat starring Jason Statham. James LaVitola is a former stuntman whose credits include Transformer’s, Fast and the Furious – Tokyo Drift, and Friday Night Lights. Cliff Dorfman was a staff writer on the HBO hit show Entourage and also wrote the film Warrior starring Nick Nolte and Tom Hardy.
