We share the same goals, have the same values, and have long-term commitments with one another. We are here for each other in times of need and celebration.
Waco, TX (PRWEB) May 08, 2013
The fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas had a devastating impact on countless lives in the area, killing 14 people, injuring more than 200 and destroying countless homes in a several-block area. Among the affected was an employee of Waco-based Equity Institutional (formerly known as Sterling Trust), who lost her home and all of her possessions in the destruction.
In response, Equity Institutional and its employees are rallying together as a community to help their colleague and her family with donations and fundraising events:
- The company made a donation directly to the employee to help her and her family with immediate expenses they might encounter
- The company’s Waco office hosted a chicken and spaghetti lunch
- A bake sale is planned at the company’s two Greater Cleveland, Ohio-area offices
- The company set up the option for employees to set aside part of one paycheck to donate to the employee
In total, the employees’ efforts resulted in a total donation of nearly $5,400.
The generous spirit is part of the company’s overall culture. As a division of Equity Trust Company, Equity Institutional shares in the set of core values that guides all employees. One of them is “Welcome Home,” which states: “Equity Trust Company is more than a business . . .we are a family. We share the same goals, have the same values, and have long-term commitments with one another. We are here for each other in times of need and celebration.”
Our Equity Institutional coworker is just one of many who suffered a great loss in the tragedy. For details on how to help, visit a reputable site such as http://www.redcross.org.
