This new version boosts visibility into current data flows and developing issues on an SAP solution-based infrastructure of any size, while shrinking its own resource usage - in essence, it does more for less.

Revelation Software Concepts Pty Ltd(RSC), a pioneer and market leader in simplifying change control for users of SAP® solutions, today announced RSC Salt v2.7 advanced change intelligence software for IT infrastructures based on SAP solutions. The new version extends licensing to provide higher value to all users; tightens security; delivers faster performance; allows easier configuration on load-balanced or high-demand systems; reduces storage requirements, and gives broader coverage of all licensed systems.

“The new licensing terms and powerful new features make Salt for SAP solutions even more valuable for any size or number of systems,” noted Dave Gordon, CIO at RSC. “This new version boosts visibility into current data flows and developing issues on an SAP solution-based infrastructure of any size, while shrinking its own resource usage - in essence, it does more for less.”

Benefits of the RSC Salt 2.7 new and enhanced features include:

  • Tighter security: Support for encrypted SMTP email servers using SSL/TLS connections, such as Gmail, will send secure email notifications via more services

*Boosted performance: Data compression delivers faster access, reduces disk usage, can save hundreds of MB on mid-size systems while speeding access to data files

*Broader coverage: Automatic monitoring of modified, non-customer namespace objects covers all changes within monitored systems, whether custom or standard objects

*Easier configuration: Support for load-balanced SAP systems makes it easier to configure coverage on high-performance and high-use systems, for optimal performance and improved connection failure tolerance

*Enhanced value: Licensing drops distinction between development/non-development systems, giving access to historical object versions for all systems and enabling configuration for as many source systems as total systems license limit allows

In addition, Salt version 2.7 includes many usability enhancements and optimizations, delivering its change intelligence and management functions via the same maintenance-free virtual appliance dashboard already used for Salt on hundreds of IT systems around the world.
