New analysis of Barack Obama reveals international perspectives of the enigma

The Kenya experiences loom large not only in Obama’s personal life but in his political career.

President Barack Obama’s life may be the subject of endless news reports, but he remains an enigma, shrouded in mystery and mystique.

In his new book Moving Forward!, author Chris Kanyane reveals new research into the president’s deep-seated influences beginning with Kenya.

“The Kenya experiences loom large not only in Obama’s personal life but in his political career,” says Kanyane. “It was his keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention and book Dreams from My Father that catapulted him into the White House. Both are rooted in Kenya.”

Kanyane, a researcher in South Africa, spent time with Obama in Kenya two years before he became president. He says he became so fascinated with the then-future president that he began pouring himself into an avalanche of literature, speeches and critique on Obama.

Providing insight into Obama’s vision for the United States and the world, Moving Forward! weaves together the rich epochs of the president and his political career.
