Lance Kirk Named CEO; Jeff Rich Appointed Chairman

RoyaltyShare, Inc. today announced the promotion of Lance Kirk to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Kirk, who joined RoyaltyShare in 2011, was previously Vice President of Finance at Sony Music Entertainment. The company also announced that Jeff Rich has been named Chairman. Rich is the founder and principle director of Plumtree Partners and was previously CEO of ACS, a Fortune 500 company and leading provider of business process outsourcing and information technology services. In addition, Sue Zotian was promoted to the newly created position of President, Enterprise Services. RoyaltyShare also announced the resignation of Chairman and CEO Bob Kohn to pursue other interests.

Kirk, an entertainment, enterprise business services and IT industry veteran, has been a major voice in the company since joining as CFO. He joined RoyaltyShare in September of 2011 as part of RoyaltyShare’s expansion into the enterprise services business. Kirk has more than 30 years of operational, financial and IT management experience across a wide range of both executive positions and industries. Prior to RoyaltyShare, Kirk was VP of Finance at Sony Music Entertainment and served for seven years as a Client Executive at EquaTerra, the leading business process outsource (BPO) consulting firm, where he managed and directed a number of key accounts involving business process optimization for numerous SG&A business functions. Previous positions include Interim CIO for Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI; business unit President & CEO for MCA/Universal; SVP Operations for the Samuel Goldwyn Company; Chief Operating Officer of Power Systems; and Senior Manager for Price Waterhouse. Kirk is a graduate of New York University with an MBA in Accounting. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Seton Hall University.

Jeff Rich joined the company’s Board of Directors in September 2011 in conjunction with an investment in RoyaltyShare by PlumTree Partners, LLC. Prior to ACS, Rich was a Vice
President in the Leverage Capital Group of Citibank New York.

Kohn, who co-founded eMusic.com, Inc. in 1997 and is the co-author of the legal treatise, Kohn On Music Licensing (4th Edition, 2010), co-founded RoyaltyShare in 2005 along with Steve Grady, President of Technology Solutions and Scott Holcombe, CTO. Since inception, RoyaltyShare grew from a small startup to be a leading technology provider to both the music and book publishing industries and more recently, expanded significantly with the formation of the “Enterprise Services Group” (ESG), which provides key industry-specific support services to media & entertainment companies. The company currently has more than 150 customers worldwide and a staff of more than 90 employees.

Both Grady and Holcombe will remain in their respective roles. Grady has more than 20 years experience in information technology and marketing. Prior to RoyaltyShare, Grady was Vice President and General Manager of eMusic.com. Holcombe also served at eMusic in the role of CTO. Prior to that he was a senior developer with MP3.com.

The company’s Enterprise Services Division, which is based in New Jersey, is headed by Sue Zotian, who will take on the new role of President of Enterprise Services. Zotian was previously Senior Vice President of Royalties. Sue has 25 years of entertainment industry related experience in various back office functions. In her expanded role, Sue will use the expertise of the Enterprise Services Group to expand the division into premier entertainment services company.
