GO Outdoors, one of the largest outdoors goods retailers in the UK, is about to open the doors of its latest store in Scunthorpe, north Lincolnshire. And it's expected to get a warm welcome from adventurous types in the area, especially as it is so conveniently-located for the hugely popular and scenic outdoor activities hotspot of the Lincolnshire Wolds.

The store, on Dudley Road in the town, was previously occupied by the Matalan clothing chain, but has been completely transformed, thanks to a £1.5million investment, and is set to open this Saturday, May 4.

It will be managed by Rebecca Davey, who said: "North Lincolnshire and the Humber region is an important area for GO Outdoors. "It's a wonderful region for camping, hiking, cycling and stunning outdoor areas such as the Wolds, so we're looking forward to Scunthorpe becoming a key store in our UK portfolio."

Forty jobs have been created in the town by the opening of the store, which features a number of novel and useful features designed to help customers make the right choice from the vast range of products on offer.

The entrance to the store will be easily located, thanks to the hand-made timber path which has been constructed on its approach.

Customers will even be able to test their heads for heights on the store's six metre-high climbing wall, which represents a challenge for climbers of all ages and levels of ability. And trying out the vast range of walking footwear on offer can be done on authentic artificial walking surfaces designed to simulate lots of different underfoot conditions.

There will even be a huge, purpose-built synthetic field in the store, where more than 40 GO Outdoors Tents will be pitched, so customers can see how they'll look when properly erected.

"We've got plenty of attractions for people to see, and have provided all the facilities we know our customers will appreciate, such as cycle servicing, wheelchair access throughout the ground floor, changing rooms, baby changing facilities, toilets and a boot fitting area."

Free parking is also available right outside the store, so customers won't have far to carry their purchases either.

So step inside GO Outdoors' new Scunthorpe store and find everything you need to help you enjoy the great outdoors. And between visits, log on to http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk to find a huge range of outdoor clothing and equipment from skiwear and cycling accessories to Pop Up Tents and cooking equipment.
