D.C. Superior Court Case No. 2011 CA 006351 V arose out of a collision caused by a woman insured by State Farm. According to court documents, she disregarded a traffic sign and caused a collision with our client’s vehicle. Chaikin, Sherman, Cammarata & Siegel, P.C.'s client is a 28 year old woman who suffered as a result of the collision, an aggravation of pre-existing back conditions, also indicated in court documents. This injury led to her need for spinal surgery. The client did not have the surgery as of the time of trial. As a result of the collision, Chaikin, Sherman, Cammarata & Siegel, P.C.'s client also has lifetime permanent functional limitations and a diminished capacity to earn money. Court documents explain that The State Farm policy limits were only $100,000 and State Farm offered $23,500 to settle the case before going to trial.

“We did not surrender to State Farm’s low ball offer. We instead vigorously presented her case in court and obtained justice for her," said Washington D.C. injury lawyer Cammarata.

Court documents state that the client also had an underinsured motorist policy with GEICO with policy limits of $200,000. As a result of the judgment, GEICO also agreed to pay its policy limits which will be credited against the amount to be paid by State Farm.
