Program exceeds inaugural year, companies share best practices

Systems integrators continue to prove that they have what it takes to grow fast—no matter the overall economy—and SD&I’s Fast50 was reaffirming that these companies know the winning best practices in security solutions contracting. An emphasis on service to the customer as a trusted advisor and partnering with top suppliers, as well as ongoing training, were cited as best practices to fast growth.

The top 20 companies based on the overall ranking (this year SD&I allowed for ties, also indicating the close competitiveness of the program) included: 1. Securityhunter; 2. Tech Systems; 3. Compass Tech Systems; 19. Rapid Security Solutions; 20. Northland Control Systems; and 20. Dowley Security Systems.

Securityhunter Inc. earned the top SD&I Fast50 overall ranking. The company provides products and services to the federal government vertical including access control, perimeter fence solutions, biometrics, Homeland Security, video surveillance CCTV, digital video, retail facility security, intrusion detection and fiber optics. Mike Rogers, chief executive officer of the firm, stated that long-term relationship building in this vertical market was critical to the company’s continued growth.

“The companies in the SD&I Fast50 are primarily private firms, some 97 percent,” says SD&I Editor Deborah O’Mara. “Although they are not the largest firms in the industry, many base their success on providing new technologies and innovative solutions and especially, their round-the-clock attentiveness to the customer.”
