A number of InfoRelay clients sought out data centers with higher availability that still offered competitive pricing. We worked with them to remove any bottlenecks in their expansion efforts.
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 13, 2013
On Monday, Northern Virginia-based colocation and cloud hosting provider InfoRelay Online Online Systems, Inc. announced the opening of its newest New York City data center, located in downtown near Zuccotti Park in Lower Manhattan. The new facility houses a number of global networks, such as Level3, AboveNet, Verizon and AT&T, providing various connectivity options for colocation clients. InfoRelay says that the new data center availability is provided to ensure that its current and prospective clients have immediate access to expansion space for their IT infrastructure.
The new facility marks InfoRelay’s second data center in the downtown New York region, bringing the firm’s nationwide presence to 15 locations. The new facility anticipates the completion of its SSAE16 Type 2 certification in coming weeks. InfoRelay explains that this certification ensures that clients requiring regulatory compliance can rely upon the physical and network security protocols initially laid out by the facility management. SSAE16 certification also helps InfoRelay to service government, healthcare, banking and other high-regulation sectors. In addition, the new facility utilizes diesel generator power and n+1 UPS infrastructure to ensure consistent power and offers tenants an array of connectivity options on a redundant network configuration that is supplied by dual fiber entry points. Other attributes of this data center include heightened physical security such as mantrap entryways, keycard access, and 24/7/365 video monitoring.
InfoRelay’s New York expansions are driven by increased demand, Marketing Coordinator Jonathan Maxim explains. “Demand for data center real estate driven by the insurance, financial and web hosting sectors has contributed to our latest facility opening. A number of InfoRelay clients sought out data centers with higher availability that still offered competitive pricing. We worked with them to remove any bottlenecks in their expansion efforts.” Maxim explained that InfoRelay clients are provided with multiple, diverse locations to house their IT infrastructure, so that in the case of an outage, other PoPs (Points of Presence) can offload the primary network traffic and minimize downtime.
