1,700 people who attended the FinditHere.com racing/evangelism event held at the Wheatland, Missouri Lucas Oil Track on April 20, 2013, were entertained with good racing along with an opportunity to hear the gospel.

WHEATLAND – Eric Turner, race car driver, shows off his FinditHere.com sponsorship sticker. His 800-horsepower dirt-track race car was just one of the many attractions on display for fans to visit. The logo for the event was developed by MBC staffer Jim Thorne. He received permission from NAMB to modify the logo that is on the FinditHere New Testaments. Four race cars carried the sponsor logo, including the first race winner.

“The 1,700 who attended this race had an opportunity to hear the gospel and learn about a trusted gospel-oriented website,” said Mark Snowden, MBC evangelism/discipleship strategist.

About 70 volunteers from five associations shared the gospel 61 times here at Lucas Oil Speedway, yielding 23 salvations April 20 during a FinditHere.com racing/evangelism event that the Missouri Baptist Convention(MBC) helped sponsor.

“The 1,700 who attended this race had an opportunity to hear the gospel and learn about a trusted gospel-oriented website,” said Mark Snowden, MBC evangelism/discipleship strategist. “Spots for FinditHere.com ran many times on the big screen and three banners promoted the website. Spiritual fruit was borne. It may have looked like a dirt race track, but it was a harvest field!”

Children enjoyed games, bounce houses and chalk drawing. A tent was the focal point for FinditHere.com where people could hear a testimony and then register for a drawing for several prizes.

The event was sponsored by the MBC, Raceway Ministries, Lake Ozark Region Ministries, and the five Baptist associations (Fellowship, West Central, Miller, Lamine, and Dallas). It was coordinated by David Mifflin, director of missions, Fellowship, Warsaw, and Snowden. Ashley Berry, event coordinator for Lucas Oil, worked closely with the participants.

Approximately 340 New Testaments were handed out. Inside each one was a special card containing the testimony of Mark Penticuff, who is a race car driver and chaplain. During the intermission Penticuff was interviewed live over the public address system at the track.

Funding for the event was provided through the Cooperative Program by the joint evangelism funds of the MBC and the North American Mission Board . Special gifts were sponsored by Fellowship Association and Lake Ozark Region Ministries.

Frank Stark of Raceway Ministries said the opening prayer at the race just after a moment of silence for the victims of the Boston bombings
