“Currently we are right in the middle of this exciting new space, helping new medical graduates get hired and placed.”

Every year hundreds of medical professionals gather for the Oakland University Nightingale Nursing Awards honoring the most prestigious nurses in Oakland County. There are only eight categories for awards and nearly 1,000 nurses are nominated each year. Oakland University partnered with Hour Detroit, a monthly publication that is well known for their “Best of List,” to host the awards this evening at The Mirage in Clinton Twp. “Each year this event grows and touches more people than the previous year,” Said Greg Jamian, President and CEO of AmeriCare Medical, Inc. “We will have over 600 professionals in attendance at this years’ awards.” Greg Jamian also sits on the board for Oakland University’s School of Nursing and is proud to say that the Nightingale Nursing Awards serve as a long-term goal and a mark of achievement for recent nursing graduates. “This award ceremony is like the Oscars, it’s the most acknowledged honor for the nursing profession,” said Jamian. “It rewards individuals for outstanding achievement in the health and human services field.” Oakland University produces some of the area’s best nurses and has been recognized by Oakland County’s Medical Main Street as being, “an incubator driving the job growth for well-educated and trained nurses.”

Jamian was asked to present the award to this year’s winner of the “Long-term Care” category, Laura L. Lager of Oakwood Heritage Hospital. AmeriCare Medical, Inc. is proud to be the sponsor of the Long-term Care award, as well as have one of their own present the award. The company will have ten employees in attendance at the awards; including three of their own nurses, Sally Gribbens, April Bailey and Fayetel Cherry, who are being honored as AmeriStaff Nursing Services’ “Nightingale Nurses.”

AmeriStaff Nursing Services has been an exemplary employer of the nursing field for over 32 years and today they proudly employ over 250 nurses at various health care establishments including hospitals, government facilities, and assisted living centers. “Nursing job growth will continue its growing trend for at least another 20 more years,” Said Jamian. “Currently we are right in the middle of this exciting new space, helping new medical graduates get hired and placed.”

AmeriCare Medical Inc. is based out of Troy, Michigan and provides specialized home care services to the greater metro-Detroit Area. AmeriCare Medical Inc. is the parent company of AmeriStaff Nursing Services, Sun Medical Equipment, and RxiV. Ameristaff Nursing Services.
