Outdoor Living

This course gives design professionals all the essentials for designing an outdoor space.

Chatsworth, CA (PRWEB) May 10, 2013

Lamps Plus announces “Outdoor Living”, an exciting CEU course (Continuing Education Unit) opportunity for Southern California residential interior designers and other professionals in the residential interior design industry. The course will take place June 5, 6:30-8:00 pm, at the Lamps Plus corporate offices in Chatsworth, California. “Outdoor Living” will update practicing professionals on all the essentials for designing an outdoor space, including: the latest design trends, colors and patterns; outdoor lighting tips and best practices; space planning solutions; and an overview of current and forthcoming outdoor technologies, including solar and energy efficient LED outdoor lighting fixtures and more.

Manja Swanson, Chief Creative Officer for Lamps Plus, summarizes the impetus for the course: “The sophistication of today’s outdoor designs blurs the line between the indoors and outdoors, and as such, the outdoor space has become a vital extension of the home. This course utilizes the lighting and decor experts we already have on staff, to help professionals keep abreast of the trends in decorating outdoors with everything from energy efficient landscape lighting and fixtures to the latest furniture and accessories for the garden and patio.”

“Outdoor Living” will be presented by decorated design industry veterans Lynda Gould, Lamps Plus Certified Interior Designer, and Michael Murphy, Lamps Plus Design Content Producer. The evening class will last approximately ninety minutes. Light refreshments will be served prior to the start, and the presenters will be on hand after to answer individual questions.

“Outdoor Living” is designed to offer valuable insight to both practicing and aspiring interior designers and other industry professionals, and it is provided courtesy of Lamps Plus Professionals, a trade program offered by specialty lighting retailer Lamps Plus. The company plans to expand its CEU course program in the future. Noted Swanson, “we are planning new course offerings, plus we plan to hold the courses in other regions around the country where we have our retail lighting stores, including Texas, Arizona, Colorado and Northern California.”

Individuals wishing to attend the complimentary “Outdoor Living” CEU course can RSVP by emailing Pros(at)LampsPlus(dot)com with “CEU Class” in the subject line, or by phoning 1-800-304-8120.
