The Hive library Worcester Gresswell 75 years birthday

The Hive, Worcester, is hosting Gresswell's 75th birthday party in May.

The visionary new library will see customers, partners and suppliers come together on May 22nd to celebrate Gresswell’s 75-year history of service to the library and information profession.

Guests will have the chance to meet the Gresswell team and find out about new ideas and solutions to create flexible spaces, archival and protection products and everything libraries need to promote reading.

As a special treat, Neil Griffiths, children's author and creator of Storysack, will be running storytelling taster sessions throughout the day to demonstrate how to bring stories to life.

The staff at Hive will organise tours around the new library, which is the first fully integrated and jointly-run university and local authority library in Europe.

Described as “ground-breaking” in both its concept and design, The Hive brings together a quarter of a million books, documents and archive items from both the public and university libraries under one roof. It houses one of the largest children’s libraries in the UK, council services, meeting rooms, study areas, a shop and a cafe, and was designed and installed by Gresswell's sister-brand Demco Interiors.

Gresswell offers specialist library and educational supplies, equipment and furniture in the UK and worldwide, and is part of the Demco Europe family of brands.
