The Granite House, extended care program for men located in New Hampshire, introduces Maine native and Texas resident Michael Smith as its new Chief Marketing Officer.

The Granite House, extended care program for men located in New Hampshire, is pleased to announce the addition of Michael Smith as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Michael is an established member of the addiction treatment field. In his new role he will oversee all aspects of marketing, admissions and discharge planning conducted by The Granite House. He joins the operation after five years of working with a long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility in Texas.

Beyond his professional dedication to helping others impacted by addiction, Mr. Smith is personally acquainted with the effects of drug and alcohol abuse - due to his years as an addict. After achieving and maintaining recovery, he turned to helping others facing similar circumstances. Now ten years into his journey of recovery, he has contributed to the operations of several recovery and rehab-related organizations. In his previous position, he served as the Director of Multimedia and Marketing at Burning Tree in Texas.

The Portland, Maine native began his career as a residential counselor for a large non profit organization specializing in dual diagnosis. More recently, he studied Human Services Management at the University of North Texas, and started a company helping families find appropriate placement. and consulting for startups and turnarounds. Also, Mr. Smith serves on the planning committee for C4 Recovery Solutions which presents the Cape Cod Symposium, West Coast Symposium and C.O.R.E. conferences. In 2012 he worked with TAAP, the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals, to help them grow their conference.
