FootyStar has been created with input from current AFL footballers to provide all players with insight into how to improve their individual game and assist them to get to the next level.
Footy tips and tricks previously known only to the professionals are now available for every player, regardless of age or level.
FootyStar allows individual players to track real-time stats during their actual games through an easy to control touch-screen application.
A player’s parent, coach or friend can be the “stat keeper” and produce post game statistics in terms of kicks, handballs, marks, tackles, total disposals, effectiveness and “one percenters”.
A standout feature of FootyStar is a Heat Map which allows the user to track where the player got their possessions as well as providing an overall rating per game. FootyStar also produces post-game advice from current AFL players on specific areas to focus upon and improve, based on the statistics produced.
Justin Magraith from local developer Shedworx is very excited about the launch and the feedback they have had from initial users.
“We have had an excellent response to FootyStar from junior footballers and coaches. The time spent involving current AFL footballers was well spent and has led to a product that is easy to use and effective for everyone,” said Magraith.
David Mundy, 2010 Fremantle Best & Fairest winner, also made comment on the launch of the App and how parents will be able to use it while they watch their child play each week.
“FootyStar is a great idea. I know my Dad would have loved using it for my games growing up,” said Mundy.
FootyStar is now available for download via the iTunes App store for $2.99.
