Brach Eichler Adds Five Attorneys to Health Law Practice

Brach Eichler LLC ( has added five new attorneys to its health law practice.

Shannon Carroll's practice includes guardianship and conservatorship work. She has been appointed by the court to serve as court appointed attorney, guardian, and guardian ad litem to incapacitated and alleged incapacitated individuals. Carroll served as the public defender for the Borough of River Edge in 2011, as well as the law clerk for the Hon. Peter E. Doyne, A.J.S.C. from 2008 to 2009. While attending Seton Hall University School of Law, she interned for the Hon. Joseph S. Conte, J.S.C. Carroll received her B.A. from The College of New Jersey.

Michele Gipp's practice includes corporate transactions involving private investments, mergers and acquisitions, corporate agreements, as well as healthcare transactions involving compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. She was the managing editor of the Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal at Fordham University School of Law, where she earned her J.D. Gipp received her B.A. from the University of Delaware.

Ed Hilzenrath’s practice is focused on the representation of health care providers, including ambulatory care facilities, hospitals and physician groups. He counsels individuals and entities in a variety of transactional matters, including entity formation, asset purchases, stock purchases, mergers, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, employment agreements, contract drafting and other transactions, as well as regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Brach Eichler, Hilzenrath worked as a hedge fund professional. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.S. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Peter Valenzano’s practice includes representation of physicians and hospitals in a variety of corporate, transactional and regulatory matters. Before attending law school, Peter served as a Medicaid service coordinator for United Cerebral Palsy in New York City where he provided access to social services to families caring for loved ones with disabilities and special health care needs. He also served as an intern in the office of United States Senator Jon S. Corzine and for the Passaic County Criminal Court in Paterson, New Jersey. Peter earned his J.D. from and his B.A. from Rutgers University.

Jonathan Walzman concentrates his practice on corporate and health care transactions, with a focus
on purchases and sales of businesses, including medical practices; facilitating entity formation and governance documentation, including shareholders' and operating agreements; medical practice and hospital mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; contract negotiation and drafting; consulting on operational and planning issues affecting corporate entities and health care providers; physician employment issues; and advising health care clients in a wide array of health care fraud and abuse issues, including Stark law and Anti-Kickback statute compliance. In addition, he advises hospitals, ambulatory surgical facilities and other health care providers on a wide variety of state and federal licensing and regulatory issues and counsels clients with respect to Medicare and Medicaid enrollment and other issues. Jonathan received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. from Yeshiva University.
