Three non-profit organizations are getting a free boost in their web presence thanks to Instructor Denis Eve and the new Practical Skills Web Development program at Q College. "We chose the non-profit sector because budgets are slim, online exposure is critical, and the need for a well-functioning website is greatest," Denis Eve said.
The Practical Skills Web Development program pairs students from the second-semester Drupal web development program, eager for practical experience and portfolio pieces, with non-profit organizations. Together they do more than design and develop new websites; they also create tools that allow for self-administration of content, reduce workload and save organizations money.
“The students in Q College’s PSWD course spent a phenomenal amount of hours completely restructuring my website, gave it a much needed facelift and automated all functionality which has reduced my workload by 90%. In the end many more lost pets will be finding their way back home. Thanks for everything.” - Pamela S. (Victoria Lost Pets)
