Santa Clarita, CA (PRWEB) May 10, 2013
An SEO Workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. To RSVP visit http://nineeye.com/301workshop/. Web Developer and SEO Specialist of Santa Clarita, Chaz Key is the creator of http://www.nineeye.com and will be hosting this workshop. In this developmental class called "SEO So Easy!", Key will be going over the safest way to update old websites using 301 redirects to save all page rankings that may have built up over its existence. This workshop will be great for small business owners and freelancers of Santa Clarita.
Key said that failing to properly plan a site migration is the number one mistake that a website owner makes. To avoid this mistake Key said he will "show the class how to avoid what happens 95 percent of the time when an updated website is launched," Key said. "The pages that you worked so hard on for so many years just drop off the search engines. They lose their rank. That can be devastating to a business of any size."
He continued on saying that, "All the credibility your old website had is virtually squashed when you launch a brand new website. All the old links, all those articles linking to the old site, all the directories, RSS feeds, any type of link — that website no longer gets the page-ranking credit it used to have, unless you create 301 redirects."
Using 301 redirects allows website owners to avoid these terrible consequences. Key explained that ""The major search engines — Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ask.com — all understand that when you say a 301 redirect, you're saying this page, has moved permanently, and here's where to find it now. When you do not migrate your site correctly, you will lose a significant amount of traffic, both from search engines and from users clicking on links trying to get to your website. If they get a 404 'Page Not Found" error page, they'll figure you're out of business — or should be — and never return to your site. I will show everyone how to use 301 redirects to avoid that."'
This will be Key's fifth free workshop this year. His past workshops went over basic search engine optimization on webpages, keyword research, internal link structure, and link-building from other sites back to yours. He also invites SEO web experts and web developers to his workshop. He said, "There's plenty of SEO out there that needs to be done for everyone."
There is a 50 RSVP limit and currently there are less than half of those spots available. Key's "SEO SO Easy" workshops are highly popular and are always standing-room-only, so RSVP now and arrive early. Location and directions are all listed on the http://nineeye.com/301workshop/ website.
The workshop will start promptly at 6 p.m. and run for about an hour and a half. It will be followed up by a half hour Q&A session. No product-pitching is allowed during the workshop, but networking is encouraged before and after. The "SEO So Easy" workshop Meet-Up page also provides a great place for networking after the workshop is over.
Intero Real Estate Services, AM 1220 KHTS and HometownStation.com, Santa Clarita SEO, and GoDaddy.com have all been sponsors of the "SEO So Easy" workshop.
