According to the Sky News report: unauthorised apps ‘costing parents 30m’, a study has reported that youngsters using smartphones or tablets increases family average monthly charges by around £34. Eight year olds are shown to run up the highest bills, adding an average of £59.59, while children aged four and under have made purchases without permission.
The Sky News report goes on to say that nearly one in five parents gives their children passwords and a free rein to access whatever content they want. Out of the 2,000 parents consulted 54% said that they link their Smartphone or tablet to an easily accessible subscription service of direct debit.
