In a deal with Lovecraft Holdings, LLC, Blackstone Audio Inc. has obtained the rights to release influential horror fiction author Howard Phillips Lovecraft’s full literary cannon on audiobook. Lovecraft’s “At the Mountains of Madness,” narrated by multiple Earphones and Audie Award–winning narrator Edward Herrmann will be available June 1, 2013, and is the first title from Blackstone Audio in a wave of H. P. Lovecraft releases planned this year. His works are also buzzing in Hollywood, with famed movie director Guillermo del Toro planning a film adaption of “At the Mountains of Madness” which will star Tom Cruise. Lovecraft’s popularity has soared in the decades since his death in 1937, and he is now one of the most influential horror fiction writers of the twentieth century.
