Quintel®, a leading innovator of spectrum and space efficient antennas for wireless networks has just completed the development of the world's first 8-Port/Pentaband Slimline Antenna.

The Quintel Ultra Broadband (UBB) MultiServ 8-Port Pentaband Antenna uniquely delivers 8 ports and up to four independent services in a single slim-line 300mm/12” wide antenna - 2x(694-787MHz) + 2x(824-894MHz) + 4x(1695MHz-2400MHz). This enables existing sites to be upgraded for LTE operation at 700, AWS and WCS bands with the replacement of one like for like antenna. Quintel antenna solutions enhance network efficiency, improve quality of service, mitigate tower loading concerns and lower environmental impact – with the lowest cost per transmitted bit. The Quintel UBB MulitServ Pentaband 8-Port Antenna is an ideal solution for independently optimizing multiple services when rapidly introducing new services. Technology agnostic, each band provides flexibility for existing and future technologies such as GSM/EDGE, UMTS/HSPA, CDMA/EVDO, LTE/LTE-Advanced and MIMO implementations. The tilt of each band is controlled independently via internal RET actuators 3GPP compliant to AISG1.1and AISG2.0 protocols.

Four ports at 1695-2400MHz will afford the flexibility for operators to better manage and mitigate potential cross-band PIM interference between PCS, AWS and WCS bands, and exploit the MIMO dual-array advantages when connected to 2T4R and/or 4T4R base station configurations.

This antenna platform will be leveraged to provide our SONWav™ elevation beamsteering capabilities at all bands and/or 4 additional sub-banded Highband ports for a total of up to 12 ports, while still maintaining its slimline form factor.

“Operators no longer have to agonize over how they are going to add current and future services to their space exhausted towers, or have to compromise with complex combining schemes or lower rad centers” said Joe Veni, Quintel’s Vice President of Sales and Business Development. “They can significantly reduce time-to-market and OPEX and CAPEX per subscriber simply by deploying this antenna.”
