Group Mobile, well known for carrying the top brands in rugged laptops, rugged tablet PCs, rugged smartphones, and rugged handheld computers has recently extended its product offerings to include the line of rugged handheld computers from Juniper Systems. Juniper handhelds provide innovative mobile technology to geomatics, agriculture, natural resources, industrial, public works, and military markets.
The Juniper Mesa® Rugged Notepad and the Juniper Archer field PC® offer configurations that are certified as "non-incendive" for use in Class I, Div 2 areas approved under USA and Canadian intrinsically-safe standards.
"We are very excited to partner with Juniper Systems. Junipers’ rugged handhelds provide well-built and flexible mobile computing platforms," stated Stephanie Kreitner, Marketing Director for Group Mobile. "The handheld form factor has historically been popular in warehouse management and logistics, field data collection, inspection and surveillance, geomatics, agriculture, meter reading, asset management, shipping and receiving, and retail POS. The Class I, Division 2 certifications on the Mesa and the Archer also allow for safe operation in areas where hazardous materials may be present."
The Mesa Rugged Notepad features the advantages of both a tablet PC and a rugged handheld computer. It is powered by the Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 operating system and features a custom Juniper Systems finger-friendly onscreen keyboard. The Mesa is a data collection powerhouse with a substantial 5.7 inch screen size, yet it still feels like a compact handheld. The ability to connect via Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi allows for convenient and efficient communications. The Mesa Geo model is equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera providing photo capture with geo-tagging, and a GPS receiver with 2-5 meter accuracy, making it ideal for data collection in distributed asset management, work order management, fleet logistics, and more. The Geo model also offers an optional 3G GSM modem (AT&T approved).
The Archer Field PC is powered by the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. The Archer features a high-contrast, sunlight-visible, touchscreen display for working in tough lighting conditions. Users can integrate GPS, WiFi, RFID, barcode, or data acquisition functionality with the Archer by adding peripheral devices sealed with an extended cap. With a rechargeable, lightweight Li-Ion battery pack, the Archer is sure to last through the most rigorous usage. It operates for an incredible 20 hours per charge.
With Junipers’ Mesa Rugged Notepad and Archer Field PC, users can choose many different accessories including hand straps, replacement caps, and various power options. Both tablets integrate long lasting batteries and a one-year warranty. The Juniper Mesa and Archer are MIL-STD-810G and IP67 rated to withstand exposure to water, dust, shock, drop, vibration, and extreme temperatures.
"We are pleased to add Group Mobile as our newest channel partner," said Rob Davis, Director of Business and Channel Development for Juniper Systems.
