If you think Amazon wants to be the next WalMart you are very much underestimating Amazon's vision.
Natick, MA (PRWEB) May 15, 2013
The Internet Retail, Fulfillment & Delivery Advisory (IRFDA) announced today that it has formed out of its legacy organization the former Internet Retailer, Fulfillment & Delivery Association and retains the IRFDA acronym, logo and http://www.irfda.com web address. The IRFDA’s mission remains essentially the same: to help you compete against Amazon.
Founder and CEO Steve Wilson explained “the legacy IRFDA’s vision of forming an industry association around the goal of initiating cooperative efforts among retailers to match the scope and breadth of Amazon’s ever expanding fulfillment network remains viable in concept but still slightly ahead of its time until the industry truly recognizes the threat of Amazon reminiscent of WalMart three decades ago.”
Along with its name change the IRFDA also announced the availability on its extensively revised web site of an IRFDA Innovation Report titled Amazon in 2022: Will You Survive In This Market Against This Amazon. This report is the first in the IRFDA’s Competing With Amazon Game Plan with reports to be published on an approximate monthly basis conceptualizing, developing and analyzing the impact of next generation retail infrastructure on the strategies, operations, financial performance and merchandising of retailers of all types.

Coming innovations in internet retail, fulfillment and delivery will make the internet channel as a whole, and Amazon in particular, a much more formidable competitor to the in-store channel.
